Volunteer

The theatre is always looking for new volunteers in all area’s of the theatre.

The Kirk Theatre is run and operated by a dedicated team of volunteers. As you can imagine we require a large team of friendly and focussed people to keep the theatre open.

By volunteering with us you will get to meet new people, learn new skills and help your local theatre.

We currently have over 50 volunteers who donate their time and skills to enable us to run the theatre and provide hours and hours of entertainment annually.

We have a range of volunteering opportunities available including:

Front of House
Looking after members of the public, assisting with accessibility needs and providing a warm and friendly welcome to the Kirk Theatre.

Box Office
Running and managing the ticket sales for all events at the theatre. The Box Office is open weekly on a Tuesday between 11.00am and 13.00pm and also on the evenings of a performance. An understanding of computers is beneficial but full training will be provided.

Bar Staff
Working behind the theatre bar before and at the interval of performances.

Backstage
The theatre requires dedicated teams of stage hands, technical staff, prop makers together with make up artists and hairdressers.
