Ryedale Lions proudly presents ‘Holly Taymar Sings Eva Cassidy’ supported by David Swann.
Holly Taymar is a highly accomplished singer-songwriter from York whose warm, expressive voice and mesmerising stage presence have wowed audiences for more than 20 years. Renowned for her heartfelt performances and sensitive interpretation of classic songs, Holly creates an intimate connection with audiences wherever she performs.
In her acclaimed show Holly Taymar Sings Eva Cassidy, she celebrates the timeless music of one of the most beloved and distinctive voices of the 20th century. With a voice beautifully suited to Eva Cassidy’s unique blend of folk, jazz and blues, Holly performs moving interpretations of songs including Fields of Gold, Songbird, Over the Rainbow and Autumn Leaves, alongside other favourites from Cassidy’s repertoire.
The show is a heartfelt homage rather than an impersonation. Eva Cassidy’s music is celebrated for its purity, emotional depth and honesty, and these are qualities Holly brings to every performance. Cassidy’s music had a profound influence on Holly’s own artistic development, making this tribute both deeply personal and musically authentic.
David Swann is a folk singer and songwriter. He writes songs about the people, places and history of his native North Yorkshire, as well as songs about love lost and found. He accompanies himself on acoustic guitar and always encourages audience participation.
