The Choral is a British historical drama set in Yorkshire in 1916, during the height of World War I. With most of the local men away fighting, the town’s choral society faces a crisis: too few singers remain to continue their annual performance. Determined to keep their tradition alive, the society’s committee recruits young boys and girls and appoints a new chorus master, Dr. Henry Guthrie — a cultured but controversial figure who has just returned from Germany.
